Burford is thrilled to announce that for the second consecutive year it won the AIM Award for Innovative Fundraising of the Year. Now in its 23rd year, the 2018 AIM Awards celebrates outstanding achievement amongst companies and individuals harnessing The London Stock Exchange’s AIM to fulfill their ambition and growth potential.
The Innovative Fundraising of The Year Award is given “to recognize innovation and success in how these funds have been raised.” It was received by Craig Arnott, Burford’s Managing Director responsible for UK, EMEA and APAC, at the ceremony’s October 11th dinner at Old Billingsgate in London.
Burford won the award for raising US$180 million through an oversubscribed issue of US dollar denominated bonds on the main market of the London Stock Exchange in January 2018. The new capital was to permit Burford to continue to grow its legal finance business, to which it committed $1.3 billion in 2017.
