Strom notes that, of the new capital, “$667 million [comes] from an undisclosed sovereign wealth fund”—a historic feat within the legal finance industry. Burford CEO Chris Bogart is quoted: “This is a whole new era for litigation finance in just the sheer scale of the capital we have available and the demand we’re seeing. And it now gives us long-term, reliable capital for us to meet virtually any investment need”.
