In an article for Law.com, Dan Packel remarks at the impressive global growth of legal finance, which he calls a “booming industry”. In so doing, he points out the drawbacks of forced disclosure of legal finance: “Acknowledging that a litigant is bolstered by outside funding is a tactical blunder that can give a defendant a roadmap to how to outlast the claims.”
