Florencia Villaggi
Senior Vice President, Spain
Florencia Villaggi is a Senior Vice President at Burford Capital with responsibility for assessing and underwriting legal risk, focusing on investor-state and international commercial arbitration. She brings nearly 20 years of experience advising clients across the US, Europe and Latin America on complex cross-border disputes.
Prior to joining Burford, Florencia was a counsel at Herbert Smith Freehills in London and New York, where she advised on high-profile commercial litigation and arbitration matters.
Florencia holds an LLM in US Law, cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law; an LLM from Queen Mary University of London as a Chevening Scholar; a postgraduate degree, summa cum laude; and a law degree from the University of Buenos Aires.
She currently serves as president of the CEIA New York Chapter and is a member of the ICC Argentine National Committee.
She is qualified to practice in New York and Argentina and is bilingual in English and Spanish, with training in both civil and common law systems.
