The American Lawyer speaks with Vice Chair David Perla about the role of legal finance in law firm succession planning.

In the article, Perla says: “One of the reasons people use [management services organizations or MSOs] is to figure out how to ...transition a firm, particularly where you’ve got a couple of equity owners at the very top...Effectively, they want to know when they retire, they still have some equity value even without necessarily being partners in the law firm.”
