Katharine Wolanyk to speak at IPWatchdog LIVE panel
- Diversity in law
Katharine Wolanyk, Managing Director at Burford, will be speaking on the panel “Moving beyond words: Solutions for closing the gender gap” hosted by IPWatchdog. The panel will take place as part of the IPWatchdog LIVE conference on 13 September at 3:30pm CDT in Richardson, Texas.
The panel includes women at the top of their fields in IP and will focus on the challenges they’ve faced and the best ways forward. This patent gender gap exists not only for inventors, but in the patent bar as well. Katharine will be joined by Lisa Ferri (Mayer Brown), Megan Carpenter (Franklin Pierce School of Law) and Hope Shimbaku (USPTO). According to statistics provided by Dean Carpenter during Virtual CON2020, only about 20% of IP professionals are women.
IPWatchdog was founded in 1999 and has been a trusted resource on intellectual property for tens of millions of unique visitors for nearly 2 decades.
