Carrie Tendler

Carrie Tendler is a Managing Director at Burford Capital and leads Burford’s asset recovery business, with responsibility for overseeing underwriting, origination and portfolio management activities of the asset recovery team. She focuses on developing and executing recovery strategies in complex, high-value matters and has significant experience in judgment enforcement and cross-border asset recovery. Prior to assuming her current role, she served as Special Counsel at Burford, advising on the enforcement of judgments and awards in high-value asset recovery matters backed by the firm, including global enforcement of the US $16 billion judgment rendered against Argentina in the YPF litigation.

Prior to joining Burford, Carrie was a partner at Kobre & Kim, where she was a leader in the firm’s asset recovery practice. There, she regularly advised Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, high net-worth individuals in all areas of complex cross-border asset recovery and led global enforcement campaigns involving US $100+ million judgments and arbitration awards.

Earlier in her career, Carrie practiced at Cravath, Swaine & Moore and served as a law clerk to Judge Paul J. Kelly, Jr. of the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Carrie earned her JD magna cum laude from Fordham University School of Law and her BA from the Pennsylvania State University.
