Travis Lenkner

Travis Lenkner is Chief Development Officer and a member of the Management Committee. He leads global business development and marketing. He directs corporate development and related strategic investments across the legal ecosystem. He also oversees enterprise initiatives focused on Burford’s long-term growth.

Recognized by The American Lawyer as an “innovative business creator in the legal space,” Mr. Lenkner has built and led pathbreaking organizations at scale, including as a founder, managing partner and corporate executive. The New York Times described him as “driven by a legal reformist spirit and entrepreneurial zeal.”

Mr. Lenkner’s career has been defined by work at the intersection of law and finance. He entered the legal finance market in 2013 as a launch partner in Gerchen Keller Capital, which Burford acquired in 2016. He later co-founded and was Managing Partner of one of the premier complex-litigation and mass-action law firms in the United States; he also co-founded and was a Director of the firm’s European counterpart. Most recently, he was founder and Chief Executive Officer of Larkspur Partners, a legal finance and advisory firm. Earlier in his career, Mr. Lenkner was Senior Counsel at The Boeing Company and an attorney in the New York and Washington, D.C. offices of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
