Craig Batchelor is a Director with responsibility for assessing and underwriting legal risk as part of Burford’s investment team.
Prior to joining Burford, Mr. Batchelor was a Vice President at Barclays, where he handled a portfolio of significant complex commercial litigation, internal investigations and regulatory matters. He started his legal career at Cravath, where he defended financial institutions and public companies in high-profile securities, antitrust, bankruptcy and M&A cases. He then joined Latham & Watkins, where he represented banks, hedge funds and private equity firms in a variety of complex civil litigation.
Mr. Batchelor graduated from Columbia Law School, where he was a Stone Scholar, and has a master’s degree from Yale University.
