Kelly Daley
Managing Director
Kelly Daley is a Managing Director, the head of Burford's Chicago office, and a senior member of the US commercial underwriting group responsible for assessing and structuring investments in high-value commercial litigation. Ms. Daley also acts a strategic liaison to Burford’s largest corporate counterparties, helping Fortune 500 companies build affirmative recovery programs and maximize the value of litigation assets. She frequently writes and speaks on the topic of litigation finance, monetization of corporate claims and the role of in-house legal departments.
Prior to joining Burford, Ms. Daley was a senior litigator at Orrick Herrington. Her practice focused on the litigation needs of media and technology companies, including intellectual property litigation, contract disputes, content protection and product liability. She previously worked at MoloLamken and McDermott Will & Emery.
Ms. Daley earned both her law and undergraduate degrees from Georgetown University where she was Phi Beta Kappa, winner of the Morris Historical Medal, and an editor of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics. She served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable D. Michael Fisher on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
