Administrative Services Coordinator (London)

In anticipation of the relocation of the London office and in response to the growth of the HR function Burford seeks an Administrative Services Coordinator to support the UK Operations & HR Manager in the administration of its London office and in the management of its expanding global workforce.

As part of the Administration services function, you will assist the UK Operations & HR Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the London office, including acting as a first point of contact for office visitors, handling calls and email enquiries and assisting with facilities, maintenance and office administration. As part of the HR function, you will provide day to day support to the UK Operations & HR Manager in connection with various HR initiatives related to recruitment, onboarding and benefits, performance management and learning and development.

Analyst - Research (London)

Burford Capital is hiring an investigative research analyst to join our Asset Recovery team. The role is primarily research-driven with responsibility for supporting complex international asset tracing cases, fraud investigations, and ongoing legal proceedings.

The Analyst will play a valued research role within the Asset Recovery Team and be a critical component of the team’s success. Commercial Litigation Underwriter with Business Development Focus (DACH)

Burford has created a hybrid position that will focus on the origination and underwriting of new opportunities in German-speaking Europe (DACH), including analyzing the risk profile of cases Burford considers for financing and providing oversight on cases in which Burford has invested. The candidate will also be responsible for interacting with corporate executives, finance professionals, lawyers and other influencers in the DACH region to build relationships and identify cases, portfolios of cases and other opportunities in which Burford may be willing to provide financing solutions. The candidate must have the ability to quickly evaluate the merits of claims, assess and price risks associated with the litigation, evaluate litigation budgets, and negotiate financing deals from start to finish. This position will involve close liaison with law firms, in-house counsel, and corporate representatives, as well as Burford’s global underwriting team.

Legal and Compliance Analyst (Chicago)

Burford Capital has created a position for a Legal and Compliance Analyst who will be tasked with executing functions critical to the registered investment adviser compliance program; its US securities law compliance obligations as a result of its listing on the NYSE; and the maintenance and support of Burford’s dynamic group structure and transactions. This includes, but is not limited to, administration of policies including the Code of Ethics; new hire compliance onboarding; Business Continuity Plan (BCP) development and testing; assistance with regulatory filings; employee training and other compliance monitoring activities; legal entity management; preparing responses to due diligence/KYC queries from third parties; and other responsibilities supporting the Firm’s growing Legal & Compliance team.

The Legal and Compliance Analyst will be a valued operational/shared services leader in the Chicago office and will have a seat at the table with the Legal & Compliance team when setting policy and procedures for the firm. Tax and Reporting Analyst (London)

Core responsibilities include accurate preparation and timely filing of tax documents, development and co-ordination of Burford’s tax calendar, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations, and to support the Firm’s internal Finance function and external statutory financial reporting

Ideal candidate will be a CPA and have at least 2 years of public accounting experience with corporate tax and partnership tax. This role can be based in Burford’s UK Office and will report to the Senior Tax Manager and the Managing Director, Tax & HR.
