Junior Salesforce Administrator

The Firm seeks to hire a Junior Salesforce administrator who will be responsible for contributing to the overall maintenance, configuration, and day-to-day support of our platform and users. This position plays a vital role in supporting the ongoing growth and development of Burford’s most significant technical function.

The Junior Administrator will be a proactive and ambitious team member, willing to lend their knowledge and support, dig in deep and do whatever is needed to accomplish results. They will be a trusted partner within the Salesforce team. This individual will possess the analytic skills and technical know-how to help implement solutions in our technology landscape that will positively impact all aspects of Burford’s operations. Project Manager/Business Analyst

The Firm seeks to hire a Project Manager/Business Analyst who will be responsible managing projects and doing business analysis as part of Burford’s new Program Management Office.  As Burford continues to grow and the number and complexity of projects we tackle continues to increase, there is a need to provide standards, best practices, planning, and logistical support to these efforts.  The person in this role will be charged with contributing to a variety of projects in the PMO’s project portfolio.

The Project Manager / Business Analyst will be an energetic, “can do” individual, willing to share his/her expertise with others, dig in deep and do whatever is needed to accomplish results. Quantitative Investment Analyst

Burford is hiring a Quantitative Investment Analyst to join our existing quantitative analytics team, which applies analytical principles to evaluate potential and existing investment opportunities whose primary driver is a legal outcome. Burford invests across different industry sectors and geographies and through a variety of structures.

The Quantitative Investment Analyst will be an essential contributor to the firm’s investment process. Commercial Litigation Underwriter

Burford has created a position in our Commercial Underwriting group.  The position responsibilities include analyzing the risk profile of cases Burford considers for financing and providing oversight to cases in which Burford has invested. Underwriters must have the ability to quickly evaluate the merits of claims, assess and price risks associated with the litigation, evaluate litigation budgets, and negotiate financing deals from start to finish. This position will involve close liaison with law firms, in-house counsel, and corporate representatives, as well as Burford’s global underwriting team.

Senior PR Manager

A key member of Burford’s growing global marketing team, the Senior PR Manager will work to ensure that Burford secures consistent, high-quality coverage by cultivating and maintaining relationships with key journalists and editors and by targeting them with relevant and timely story ideas. Vice President – Patent Litigation Case Management

The Firm has created a Vice President (or above, commensurate with experience) position on the case management team, which is responsible for monitoring and maximizing the value of our multi-billion dollar portfolio of existing litigation investments.  The case manager will manage the substantial portfolio of patent cases in which Burford has invested, including staying informed of and reporting on material developments in our investments; monitoring spend vs. commitment and the life cycle of the case; advising senior management on developments and strategic issues; and working with our counterparties to enhance our chances of a successful investment and case resolution. The case manager will work side-by-side with underwriter case owners who originally underwrote the patent investments in the portfolio, and with case managers for commercial litigation and arbitration investments. This case manager also will work closely with law firms, in-house counsel, and corporate representatives, as well as Burford’s global underwriting team. 

The case manager will report to a Managing Director of Burford responsible for managing the firm’s investments and be based in Burford’s Chicago offices.

Vice President - Business Development (US)

Burford Capital is adding a Vice President – Business Development who will be responsible for interacting with CFOs, finance professionals, lawyers and other influencers in our target markets to build relationships and identify cases, portfolios of cases and other opportunities in which Burford may be willing to provide financing solutions.  We are seeking a creative business development professional or former finance professional with an agile mind and previous experience and demonstrated success in developing business within the CFO and executive suite community.  We expect candidates to have deep networks within the CFO community of private and public companies.   

The role will report to the Managing Director of the domestic business development team (NY-based manager) and may be based in one of multiple locations across the US.
