The Data Analyst will be an essential contributor to the firm's investment process. A successful candidate will possess intellectual curiosity and a desire to undertake key responsibilities within the team. The constant variety and generalist approach to investment opportunities will require candidates who are fast learners and can adapt quickly to new data and events.

The successful candidate will receive blended training between on-the-job experience and formal structured lessons delivered by the Quantitative Analysis Team. One-on-one coaching and mentorship will be provided to support career progression and development. The successful candidate will gain exposure to management across the firm to understand the drivers behind investment decisions and how best to support and develop the process.

The Firm has created a Tax Analyst position who will join the tax team with responsibilities across the global business. Burford Capital has created a position for a Legal and Compliance Analyst who will be tasked with executing functions critical to the registered investment adviser compliance program; its US securities law compliance obligations as a result of its listing on the NYSE; and the maintenance and support of Burford’s dynamic group structure and transactions. Commercial Litigation Underwriter with Business Development Focus (DACH)

Burford has created a hybrid position that will focus on the origination and underwriting of new opportunities in German-speaking Europe (DACH), including analyzing the risk profile of cases Burford considers for financing and providing oversight on cases in which Burford has invested. The candidate will also be responsible for interacting with corporate executives, finance professionals, lawyers and other influencers in the DACH region to build relationships and identify cases, portfolios of cases and other opportunities in which Burford may be willing to provide financing solutions. The candidate must have the ability to quickly evaluate the merits of claims, assess and price risks associated with the litigation, evaluate litigation budgets, and negotiate financing deals from start to finish. Vice President - Patent Litigation Case Management (Chicago)

The Firm has created a Vice President (or above, commensurate with experience) position on the case management team, which is responsible for monitoring and maximizing the value of our multi-billion dollar portfolio of existing litigation investments.  The case manager will manage the substantial portfolio of patent cases in which Burford has invested, including staying informed of and reporting on material developments in our investments; monitoring spend vs. commitment and the life cycle of the case; advising senior management on developments and strategic issues; and working with our counterparties to enhance our chances of a successful investment and case resolution. The case manager will work side-by-side with underwriter case owners who originally underwrote the patent investments in the portfolio, and with case managers for commercial litigation and arbitration investments. This case manager also will work closely with law firms, in-house counsel, and corporate representatives, as well as Burford’s global underwriting team.
