Andrew Bodnar

Andrew Bodnar is a Director at Burford Capital with responsibility for managing legal finance assets within Burford’s international portfolio. He focuses on asset recovery and complex cross-border disputes, drawing on extensive experience in civil and criminal asset recovery, fraud and financial crime matters.

Prior to joining Burford, Andrew was a barrister at Matrix Chambers, where he specialized in asset recovery, corruption, corporate criminal liability, civil and criminal fraud, market manipulation and money laundering. He has extensive experience in proceedings at all levels, including cases before the House of Lords and Supreme Court concerning proceeds of crime legislation, as well as substantial civil asset recovery matters in the UK and internationally.

Andrew was an editor and contributing author to an Oxford University Press publication on asset recovery and, in practice, was recommended by Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500 and Who’s Who Legal Global.

Andrew earned his CPE, Law from University of Westminster. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales by Lincoln’s Inn and has a working knowledge of French, German and Hungarian.
