Tom Brown

Tom Brown is a Director at Burford Capital with responsibility for assessing and underwriting legal risk with a focus on asset recovery, cross-border enforcement and complex commercial disputes. Drawing on significant experience in multi-jurisdictional recovery matters, he has overseen enforcement proceedings in more than 30 jurisdictions and has particular expertise in private wealth and trust disputes.

Prior to joining Burford, he worked as an associate at Herbert Smith Freehills in London, representing banks, investment funds and major corporates in commercial litigation, arbitration and investigation matters, and at the UK’s Serious Fraud Office.

He is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and is a solicitor-advocate.

Tom earned his MA and LLM from the University of Cambridge.
