Burford Co-Chief Operating Officer Aviva Will will be participating in YSIAC's webinar on Gender diversity in arbitral appointments and proceedings taking place on November 9, at 06:00 PM SGT / 10:00 AM GMT / 5:00 AM EST.

Gender diversity in the international arbitration community is increasing, as reflected in the 2020 report on the progress of women issued by the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (“ For example, the number of female arbitrators appointed has doubled in the past four years Building on the ICCA report, this event will highlight the progress made by many efforts to date, assess existing approaches to promoting equal representation of women in international arbitration and create a vision of how to move forward The panel comprised of representatives from a law firm, an arbitral institution, a third party funder, chambers and a university will highlight the importance of gender diversity which enhances legitimacy and confidence in the outcomes of the arbitration process

Moderated by Ms Kate Apostolova, Member of the YSIAC committee and Dr S.I Strong Associate Professor, The University of Sydney law school, Aviva will be joined on the panel by Ms Lim Seok Hui, CEO SIAC, Ms Christine Artero, Independent Arbitrator, Arbitration Chambers, and Ms Sylvia Noury, Head of International Arbitration, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
