Emily Tillett to speak at HKFI webinar

Emily Tillett, Vice President at Burford, will be speaking at the webinar “After the Event Insurance” hosted by the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers. The session will take place on September 29.

On March 25, 2022, the Hong Kong SAR Government gazetted an amendment bill regarding arbitration fees, which enables lawyers to charge clients under the "no-win, no-fee" arrangement, "no-win, low-fee" arrangement or take a share of compensation. However, such arrangements may still leave the Claimant liable for the Defendant’s legal costs, or even part of their own legal costs. This program examines ATE insurance policies and third-party funding in Hong Kong. Emily will be joined by Simon McConnell (Clyde & Co.) and Pryderi Diebschlag (Clyde & Co.).

The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) was established on 8 August 1988 to advance and promote the development of the insurance business in Hong Kong. The HKFI actively promotes best market practices with an aim of improving the professionalism of and strengthening public confidence in the insurance industry.
