Mick Smith, Principal at Burford, will be speaking on the panel “The Future of Investment Arbitration: Challenges to the Legitimacy of Secret Courts—Does Investment Arbitration Enhance the Rule of Law?” as part of the 5th Annual Conference on Energy Arbitration & Dispute Resolution in Middle East & Africa, hosted by International Law Summits. The session will take place on February 11 at 3:30pm GMT.

In the context of strengthening efforts to decarbonize the global economy, coupled with the impact of Covid-19 recovery measures and continuing security challenges, the event will examine the economic, geopolitical, technical and legal considerations driving energy disputes across the region.
