Joe Durkin to speak at the 2nd IBA Litigation and ADR Symposium

Joe Durkin, Senior Vice President at Burford Capital, will be speaking on the panel "Transnational issues and enforcement challenges” during the 2nd IBA Litigation and ADR Symposium. The session will take place on August 18 at 12:30PM IST.  

Panelists will discuss recognition and enforcement of emergency awards, partial awards and interim awards; challenges from the defaulting party in enforcement proceedings; public policy and its implications on the enforcement of arbitral awards; monetizing arbitral awards; and attachment proceedings. Joe will be joined by Sanjeev Kapoor (Khaitan & Co), Sivakumar Ponnapalam (BR Law Corporation), Krishnayan Sen (Luthra and Luthra Law Offices India) and Taeko Suzuki (Nishimura & Asahi).  

The IBA was born out of the conviction that an organization made up of the world's bar associations could contribute to global stability and peace through the administration of justice. In the ensuing 75 years since its creation, the organization has evolved, from an association comprised exclusively of bar associations and law societies, to one that incorporates individual international lawyers and entire law firms.
