As litigation finance becomes increasingly common, the question of its disclosure occasionally arises. Although it is nearly always the few critics of litigation finance who foreground disclosure as a matter of concern, it is useful to advance understanding of this topic in ways that are thoughtful and constructive to lawyers and the legal community.
To that end, two respected academic institutions, the University of California Hastings College of the Law and Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, have organized an invitation-only event on October 10 focused on disclosure in outside financing of litigation and arbitration.
Burford is honored to be a participant in and supporter of the event. Managing Directors Travis Lenkner and Ernest Getto will join a roundtable of practitioners and academics to advance the conversation.
We have shared our views on disclosure, and we take seriously our role in engaging the community in dialogues such as this one. We look forward to being part of the event.
