Patrick Wackerly is a Portfolio Manager with responsibility for Burford’s post-settlement funds, which help law firms and plaintiffs monetize settlement awards ahead of receipt of final proceeds. Mr. Wackerly's work focuses on providing capital to AmLaw 200 clients and elite plaintiffs’ firms by accelerating anticipated settlement fees and client receivables, or otherwise working to monetize valuable assets that are encumbered by, or delayed on account of, litigation.
Prior to joining Burford, Mr. Wackerly was a senior associate at Sidley Austin, where he represented companies, individuals and accounting firms in complex state and federal litigation and in connection with government investigations.
Mr. Wackerly graduated with honors from the University of Chicago Law School, where he was Managing Editor of the Law Review. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame.
